Error Pages

What to Do:
1) Create an error image for the five most common web page errors (see below). If you want to create error pages for other errors you are free to but the primary judging will just be on the five most common ones.
2) Make sure your error message includes the error (anyone who gets the error will what to know what it means).
3) Make your errors appropriate to our website ie a larp theme or an Epoch world theme etc.
4) Your entries can be text base, based around a photo or around a drawing. If you wish to submit the web page code to go with them you can but it is not necessary.
5) Feel free to work in a group if you want. If the winning entry is submitted by a group we will make sure the prize is suitable for sharing.
6) Submit your errors to webmaster@epoch-larp.ca by March 31st.
7) Do have fun.

What not to Do:
1) Include any copyrighted material we do not have rights to
2) Base jokes off current Epoch characters. Characters come and go, we hope to use these errors for years.
3) Use photos of players if you are not sure they have signed their photo release forms
4) Use jokes, images or concepts that are not G or PG in nature.

Most Common Errors (according to Google)
5. HTTP error 401 (unauthorized)
This error happens when a website visitor tries to access a restricted web page but isn’t authorized to do so, usually because of a failed login attempt.
4. HTTP error 400 (bad request)
This is basically an error message from the web server telling you that the application you are using (e.g. your web browser) accessed it incorrectly or that the request was somehow corrupted on the way.
3. HTTP error 403 (forbidden)
This error is similar to the 401 error, but note the difference between unauthorized and forbidden. In this case no login opportunity was available. This can for example happen if you try to access a (forbidden) directory on a website.
2. HTTP error 404 (not found)
Most people are bound to recognize this one. A 404 error happens when you try to access a resource on a web server (usually a web page) that doesn’t exist. Some reasons for this happening can for example be a broken link, a mistyped URL, or that the webmaster has moved the requested page somewhere else (or deleted it). To counter the ill effect of broken links, some websites set up custom pages for them (and some of those are really cool).
1. HTTP error 500 (internal server error)
The description of this error pretty much says it all. It’s a general-purpose error message for when a web server encounters some form of internal error. For example, the web server could be overloaded and therefore unable to handle requests properly

Prizes
The winning images will be used as the errors on our web page and the winner or winners with be given a grab bag of in game things.
